Last week Kay Carpenter, Jessica Hird and Sophie Kane from STAT Planning attended a Nottingham Women In Construction Luncheon event at the Motorpoint Arena. This quarterly event, sponsored by Pick Everard, was attended by 120 incredible and inspiring ladies!
Our very own Jessica Hird, who is on the Nottingham Women in Construction Committee, introduced the event and gave a speech on the importance of mentoring within the construction industry. This was also the topic of the lunch and it was great to see all the women in the room come together and discuss solutions to our everyday lives, either professionally or personally.
Maria Coulter, the award-winning construction coach and podcaster, also gave a very insightful speech and workshop.
It was fantastic to meet new construction industry colleagues and it was a positive end to our new starter Sophie’s first week!
The next Women in Construction event will take place on Friday 29th November at Cleaver and Wake, which will include a charity raffle to raise money for Nottingham Women in Construction’s charity of the year, the Nottingham Women’s Centre.
