We are delighted to share that the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport has approved the delisting of Bramcote Hall from the List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest (Grade II).
When acquired, Bramcote Hall was in a severe state of disrepair shown through being structurally unsound, heavily overgrown, and considered to be in a ruinous and dangerous condition. Very little of the original historic fabric remained intact, and the site no longer retained the architectural or historic qualities that initially justified its designation.
Through the delisting process, we provided robust evidence demonstrating that the building’s special interest had been lost over time due to decay, collapse, and the removal of key historic features. Following careful consideration, the Secretary of State concluded that Bramcote Hall no longer met the criteria for listing, and it has now been formally removed from the National Heritage List for England.
This is an important outcome that recognises the real world condition and heritage value of the site, enabling its future to be considered positively and pragmatically through the planning process.
