As a Chartered Planner with over 28 years’ experience, I have worked on a vast array of projects covering all aspects of planning including residential, commercial, agricultural, utilities, leisure and renewable energy. My work ranges from initial feasibility to project management of major planning applications, dealing with enforcement matters to undertaking appeals. My job is to listen to clients, identify the correct course of action and deliver the best result possible.

I have managed large planning teams over several offices and chaired many multidisciplinary project teams. My work for major utilities companies delivered operational growth across their region and enabled profitable asset disposal. Reviewing large property portfolios and landholdings has been a regular feature of my work; identifying opportunities to increase value, consolidate operations and give an overriding strategy for implementation. I have secured consent for numerous renewable energy developments including solar, wind, AD and biomass, GS/AS Heat and a 18MW refuse derived fuel combined heat and power project.

My work has taken me from historic country estates to sewage treatment works, and inner city redevelopment sites to self-build eco homes. The smaller projects can often be more challenging than the larger schemes, but all require excellent communication, a commercial head and a good measure of persistence!

Many of my clients are land and business owners where my input is to maximise value and enhance commercial assets. The relationship with the client and delivering their objectives is the aspect I most enjoy. Over the years I have trained many graduates through their APC and I am a Mentor for Women in Planning; helping people progress is extremely rewarding.

I love to travel and can often be found in the south of France with a glass of rose and a seafood platter! Being outside always lifts the spirits – walking our dog, gardening, skiing and the newest pursuit is paddleboarding. And to counteract the often-trying times of the planning world, my haven is yoga.
