The revised NPPF continues the Government’s objective for growth and housing delivery. In the October 2024 budget the Government set out funding injections for affordable homes and Planning Authorities, following which the English Devolution White Paper proposed Spatial Development Strategies to speed up the delivery of development in the right locations and apportion minimum housing levels.
The clear message from the Government is that Local Plans must urgently be in place, housing will be built and investment should not be held up by the planning system.
