STAT Planning are delighted to have overcome various hurdles to deliver a new dwelling for a family in the Leicestershire countryside, via the Self-Build route.
The client had purchased a property with planning permission for an additional dwelling to be created from the conversion of a garage.
Unfortunately, by the time the sale completed the permission had lapsed. An application was submitted to renew the consent, however, due to the dilapidation of the garage, a conversion was no longer considered acceptable by the council.
We were brought in to advise and proposed an alternative approach for a new dwelling covering a larger footprint and designed specifically to the client’s needs.
We ensured the client was on the Self-Build Register and the proposal met the specific Self-Build criteria. Planning permission was secured, turning around a difficult situation where hopes of any dwelling were rapidly falling away and delivered a positive result with a significantly improved scheme.
This out of the box approach typifies how STAT Planning listen to the client’s needs and identify the best solution possible.
